About Kindbridge
Research Institute

We’ve assembled the brightest minds in mental health research to create a knowledge hub for scientific data collection, and evidence-based treatment approaches for gaming, gambling and other serious behavioral health disorders. We’re here to deliver reliable information and consulting that educates state gaming regulators, legislatures, and public health experts on the following:
How gaming and gambling disorders can affect their communities;
How to help reduce health inequities for those experiencing gambling disorder;
How to improve the overall health of their citizens;
How research can be used to inform public health policy and gaming legislation.
A critical component of our institute’s work is the study of how telehealth systems can complement or act as the primary medium for therapy and recovery coaching. Why? Research tells us that multiple segments of a state’s population lack access to mental health support. These sub-populations are at higher risk of experiencing gambling-related harms due to age, socio-economic status, location in rural communities, ethnicity, religion, or gender.
Our Mission
Kindbridge Research Institute’s mission is to advance the adoption of evidence-based telehealth solutions for gambling and gaming communities, develop evidence-based practice models for gaming and gambling disorders, and measure how telehealth, better access to assistance, and better access to the right tool scan impact high-quality mental health outcomes for those in treatment.

Our Vision
We envision a future where the gambling and gaming communities have immediate access to advanced, evidence-based telehealth solutions.

Our Interests
We are interested in designing a highly specialized model for treatment through telehealth and, in particular, how this model can effectively serve vulnerable groups such as:
Veterans
Native Americans
African Americans
Asian Americans
Professional and Amateur Athletes
We are learning how to engage more effectively with BIPOC communities. Our hope is to gain a better understanding of cultural sensitivities and how to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment for those seeking assistance for gambling and gaming-related harms, and the impact of sports betting on the well-being and mental health of athletes.
