Kindbridge Research Institute receives grant from Division of Gaming to carry out Problem Gambling Research, Education and Recovery Program for Veterans and their Families
LAKEWOOD, Friday, August 25, 2023– Kindbridge Research Institute has been awarded a grant from the Division of Gaming to address problem gambling within the veteran community in Colorado. The grant, totaling $363,700, was approved by the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission at their most recent meeting, as part of the Responsible Gaming Grant Program established by House Bill 22-1402 and signed into law by Governor Jared Polis on June 7, 2022.
Kindbridge Research Institute has introduced free mental health initiatives specifically designed for veterans and their family members in Colorado. The Colorado Military Veterans Project aims to expedite treatment access for service members who require it, with the hope of providing timely support and assistance. This program is the first-of-its-kind and is designed to provide treatment for both family members and individuals who are living with a gaming or gambling behavioral addiction. Veterans/active duty personnel and their families will have access to peer support and virtual treatment with a licenced clinical counselor.

The Responsible Gaming Grant Program is part of ongoing efforts by the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission to address problem gambling and promote responsible gaming practices in the state.
